Experimental and theoretical analysis of tram provisional bridge on Kvaternik square in Zagreb
Construction of underground buildings in the strict town centres, such as pedestrian underpasses, underground garages, etc., often require stopping of the public city traffic, both of the road traffic and of the railed traffic. However, since the transport on rails often represents the skeleton of the public city traffic, one tries to find some solutions in the course of the construction, in order to prevent traffic stoppages. In such cases, provisional bridges are very frequently used, which make undisturbed progress, both of the railed traffic and of the construction works on the building, possible. In the paper, experimental and theoretical analysis of the provisional steel tram bridge is shown. Such a structure was used for the first time in 2007, on the tram tracks in Zagreb, during the construction of the pedestrian underpass at Kvaternik Square.
