Results: The autopsy rate in Clinical Hospital Split is 4, 9%. The discrepancies between clinical diagnoses and autopsy findings were found in 33, 1% of the cases. A high discrepancy rate was found among pneumonias (50, 0%) and gastrointestinal haemorrhages (45, 0%) which failed to be treated due to the wrong diagnosis. Similar clinical features of acute myocardial infarction and pulmonary embolus caused great difficulties when clinically diagnosed.
