Is deterioration of mental and psychomotoric functions at low concentrations of ethyl alcohol in blood really irrelevant?
We tested the validity of a widely spread public opinion that ethyl alcohol in low blood concentrations (0, 00 to 0, 05%) does not significantly influence mental and psychomotor abilities, especially not during driving. The results of this study demonstrate that ethyl alcohol in low blood concentrations signficantly deteriorates mental and psychomotor functions, including motor vehicle driving abilities, further research is necessary to obtain reliable conclusions.
