Sociometric structure of one gymnastic team

The purpose of this study was identification of social interaction among gymnasts from one gymnastic team. Study was carried out on the group of 8 female gymnasts, aged 8 to 10, with 4 to 5 years of training experience. The results were treated by algorithm which is beside on multidimensional scaling. Results showed existence of high interaction among gymnasts. Such results are describing compact social structure of the team. Also, differentiations according to functional and emotional relations are noticed. Recognition of different components of group social dynamics could help coaches in better understanding of the team structure and functioning.
