Games and game-like activities in teaching English as a foreign laguage
This work analyzes general practices of language learning in primary school and the overall benefit of using games in those courses. Building around the four language skills, examples of different games show the possibilities of the learners' interaction and the benefit of each game. A detailed analysis of two different coursebooks used in Croatia describes different interactive and instructional ways of teaching, their advantages and disadvantages. The games do not only build into the learners' knowledge of foreign language and the world around them, but they also help develop individual learning strategies that help them respond to complex problems in real life situations.
