Capitalism in the Post-socialist period of Croatia

The main concept of this paper is that globalization through global migrations, medias and telecommunications bring to diffuse cultural influence, which is characterized by connections (correlations) and cultural ways in different course and not necessary from one centre. With a process of globalization there is also a process of historical changes in the central and eastern European countries as a result of a collapse of a communistic regime. The process of transition from socialism toward capitalism in the post socialist European countries points out differences in history and culture between development of the west and east. Economic culture is the main concept of the capitalism theory, based on the researching social culture, but also a context in which economic processes are occurred. This paper wants to show, that an act of generating profit with capitalistic orientation can have several forms like modern, political and traditional capitalism. With implementation of that analysis on Croatian society we evaluate that current model of capitalism in Croatia have characteristics of political capitalism whose main feature is wartime political profit. Uncommon business deals with political authorities are quite rooted in Croatian society. The goal of the transition of Croatian society is in creating institutions that will control rational, modern capitalism with reduced influence of political factor.
