Model for Sustainable Development of Maritime Tourism in Croatia 2007-2015
Maritime tourism is a cluster of relationship and phenomena arising from the sojourn of guests at tourist destinations which gravitate toward or are located at the sea coast, and from sailing by sea for non-commercial reasons. The basic hypothesis of this scientific paper is the following: with scientific insights into sustainable development of maritime tourism in the Republic of Croatia, it is possible to suggest a new model for sustainable development of maritime tourism in the Republic of Croatia through the period 2007 – 2015. The design of the model for sustainable development of maritime tourism in te Republic of Croatia will be based on the following variables of the model: Traffic infrastructure, Nautical charter fleet, Ports of nautical tourism and berths, Human resources, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Sustainability of the development, Business policy of the maritime tourism companies, Maritime tourism industry, Development of tourism on the islands, and Tourists spending. Current values of selected variables for year 2007. are estimated taking in account statistical evidence as well as theoretical presumptions.
