Tourist flows in the functionm of determining the optimal number of parking capacities in tourism destinations

The problem of still vehicles in tourism destinations balances in the gap between the need to ensure sufficient number of parking lots during the tourist season and the fact that outside the tourist season these parking areas will not be used. A sufficient number of parking lots is the prerequisite for tourists to enjoy fully the tourist attractions. Since the construction of parking areas and especially of garage facilities is related to investing substantial capital, and most exploitation costs have a fixed character, the lack of demand for parking outside tourist season leads towards a sure loss. Tourist flows, i.e. tourist traffic, are a significant factor for determining the optimal number of parking capacities in urban tourism destinations. It is most likely that each potential tourist, when he finds out about the lack of parking capacities, will avoid such destinations, i.e. if he witnesses once that problem, he will never come back. Tourists do not want to spend time waiting to enter into a parking space or searching for parking space in a city they are not familiar with. It should be in the interest of the units of local government and self-government, but of proprietors of attractions within urban destinations as well, to resolve such a problem. Instead of tourists leaving their money in some of the numerous attractions offered in such destination, they spend "part" of their money polluting the air and congesting the traffic of that destination, as well as in petrol costs they are faced with when searching for parking lot.
