Self-Determination of nations-between the idea and realisation
In international relations there no general principles that statesmen share in creating foreign policies. However, in certain periods some principles are more often highlighted as an explanation for a political course of a certain country or international community. N other principle in international politics created greater expectations in small nations for a fair solution of their aspirations than the principle of national sovereignty that appeared as a basic principle both within state and international relations only in 19 century, after French revolution.
