Church and Evangelization in Croatia: View of the Catholic Weekly “ Glas Koncila”
Social changes associated with the processes of transition, democratization and pluralization in Central and Eastern Europe include changes of political and economic spheres and value preferences. Moreover, these societies experienced changes in religious field. In Croatia, religion and religiosity became important markers of identity and Catholic Church became one of the most trusted social institutions among its dominantly Catholic citizens. The aim of this paper is to analyze how Catholic Church responded to this processes, especially to the process of pluralization of society and the need for evangelization. Through the method of content analysis of the catholic weekly magazine “ Glas Koncila” (The Council’ s Voice) this paper investigates presentation of their attitudes towards evangelization, which might shed a light on its stance to this subject.
