Influence of Rock Bolt Behaviour on Deep Excavations in Urban Environments
The paper analyses the behavior of rock bolts in deep excavations. From the results of pull-out tests it is obvious that this behaviour is nonlinear. Most analyticaland numerical models use linear elastic or elastic-plastic rock bolt behaviour with the use of the bilinear constitutive law. A new composite model is presented, which makes it possible to simulate the nonlinear rock bolt behaviour. An application of this model is shown for a deep excavation in the urban environment. It is shown that this new model predicts rock mass deformations better and closer to the in situ measurements than the bilinear model.
