New Assays of Domestic Crude Refined by INA
Data obtained by crude oil distillation enable optimal selection of petroleum when it is purchased as well as yield and quality estimate of products obtained through refining primarily fuels and engine oils. The mentioned data are used for the designing of new process units and the modification of existing ones. During optimisation of refining at atmospheric and vacuum distillation units in INA’ s refineries, the need emerged for new physical and chemical data referring to domestic types of oil, as well as products obtained from them. At the Research and Development Sector, a laboratory distillation of Slavonija and Moslavina types of oil and of gas condensate was made. Laboratory distillation was carried out in accordance with ASTM D 2892 and ASTM D 5236. Standards and physical and chemical characteristics were determined for the obtained fractions (light and heavy naphtha, kerosene, light gas oil, heavy gas oil, vacuum light gas oil, vacuum heavy gas oil, atmospheric residue and vacuum residue). New crude oil assays of the above mentioned domestic types of oil were made containing a number of important information which will be used for valorisation of domestic types of crude oil in comparison to foreign types of oil and between themselves as well as for correlation of monitoring changes in the quality of oil types about elapsed time.
