Effective knowledge transfer inside the multinational companies

Knowledge and knowledge transfer have important role in companies as a source of competitive advantages. It is especially characteristic inside multinational companies. In order to survive on global level, multinational companies must have affiliates all around the world which have access to knowledge which multinational company have. Successful knowledge transfer depends on several factors among which are especially important: successful and common creation of knowledge in the company itself, collaboration based on trust between affiliates which are part of multinational company and, finally, voluntary and capability of particular organizational units to use this knowledge. Knowledge characteristics have important role in selection of adequate process of knowledge transfer. Every multinational company owns different knowledge and this is the reason why there is no unique way of knowledge transfer. Manager of multinational company must recognize what kind of knowledge company posses and based on these information most make a decision about the best way of knowledge transfer. Knowledge transfer is efficient way of business improvement but in global surrounding it depends on power and possibilities of particular multinational companies. In order to make the process of knowledge transfer efficient and to minimize negative impacts there should be developed the unique conceptual model of knowledge transfer usable for the whole company.
