Radiofrequency ablation of nonishemic venticular tachycardia
Radiofrequency catheter abaltion can be used for the treatment of different patients groups with nonischemic ventricular tachyardia (VT) refractory to antiarrhythmic drugs therapy. Because of the small area of induced ventricular injury, a high degree success can be expected in patients with idiopathic VT and in patients with bundle branch reentrant VT. The long-term success rate of radiofrequency ablation of VT in arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia (ARVD) cna be effective in patients with localized disease and single VT origin. In patients with more extensive ARDV and/or pleomorphic VT, other therapeutic options should be considered. Inpatients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy, radiofrequency abaltion is not curative, but may be used as an adhunctive therapy to reduce the frequency and the sverity of VT. By using new mapping system the application of radiofrequency ablation is expanede to zhe treatment of VTs requiring chamber compartmentalization, or resulting in hemodynamic instability.
