Waste Water Collection, Treatment And Disposal in Plitvice Lakes National Park
Waste water collection, treatment and disposal in Plitvice Lakes National Park should be done so to ensure: maximum possible efficiency in the whole procedure, meeting at the same time high aesthetic criteria, safety of operation, reasonable operation and maintenance costs, compliance with all national positive legislation, and directives and recommendations of international organisations. It should also provide experience and scientific results of the research done on the location of the national park itself. In order to achieve these goals it is necessary to define sources, quantity and quality of wastewaters as a function of time. It is further necessary to determine on the basis of the results obtained by geological and hydrogeological investigations, the ecological sensitivity of particular locations concerning the positioning of sewage installations, water treatment plant and disposal facilities. All the above listed elements are conceptually considered in the paper.
