Sažetak
Fruit quality of satsuma mandarin cv. Chahara has been studied at two locations (Glogačko jezero and Modrič). Trees at Glogačko jezero are 30 years old and planted in two-row system (4, 7 x 1, 5 x 1, 2 m) and at Modrič, the trees are 10 years old planted in a single row system (4, 2 x 2, 7 m). Fruits were harvested on two dates (11. 10. 2006. and 25. 10. 2006.) in two maturity phases (1/3 and 2/3 fruit surface with yellow color). Juice titratable acidity, soluble solids concentration/titratable acidity ratio and electro conductivity were not affected by harvest date. Location (or planting system) was not significant for soluble solids concentration/titratable acidity ratio and electro conductivity of juice. Fruits at Modrič had higher fruit weight, flesh percentage and fruit diameter but lower soluble solids concentration and titratable acidity. Sensory analysis of fruits from the first harvest showed that fruits from Glogačko jezero achieved lower grade for color, which can be explained by lower light penetration into the tree canopy. More mature fruits achieved better grade for most of evaluated traits. At Modrič, more matured fruits achieved lower grade for sugar/acid ratio, aroma, taste and fruit shape, while less matured fruit achieved lower grade for juiciness, fruit size and color. It can be concluded from this study that fruit quality of Satsuma mandarin cv. Chahara is good, but this cultivar must be planted at appropriate planting distance and light penetration into the light canopy must be ensured. Appropriate harvest date for this cultivar must also be determined since variation of fruit quality depending of harvest date, location and fruit maturity has been noticed.
