A Numerical Analysis of Photogenerated Charge Carriers in Si NP Photodiode for Color Detection
Analytical solution of the coupled system of equation: electron and hole continuity equation and Poisson"s equation, shows the drift-current component to be dominant in the total photocurrent and greater than the diffusion-current component. Si photodiode color detection requires a more exact analysis of both current components. This paper presents the numerical analysis of "quasineutral" and "space-charge" charge components due to absorption of monochromatic and chromatic light. A numerical simulation offers possible further development of a one-junction silicon photodiode simultaneous color detection model.
