Ship Propulsion Steam Turbine Governing Simulation
Governing of ship propulsion steam turbine is one of the most complex dynamic non-linear technical systems. System dynamics computer simulation modeling is the most convenient and efficient method to explore interaction between ship behavior, propulsion, turbine governing and other relevant parameters. PID - Proportional Integral Derivative governor has been used for ship propulsion steam turbine shaft speed regulation. To change the propeller load, step, pulse, sinusoidal and stochastic functions are introduced. In order to keep a constant number of revolutions, such a load, however anrealistic, will create many more problems for the governor to cope with, then the real load. Ship propulsion steam turbine, as an object of regulation and its mathematical model are described in the introductory part. Following this, the dynamic continuous computer simulation model is programmed using DYNAMO software to simulate the ship propulsion steam turbine behavior dynamic i.e. the functional and duration dependence of existing variables within the analyzed system. System components and parameter interactions are analyzed using visual presentation of the process algorithm. The obtained simulation results are numerically and graphically displayed.
