Optimization of Deformation for Milling Operation Using 3-2-1 Clamping Method

In this paper we are presenting a method of optimization of jig design for milling processes. This is achieved trough optimal placement of locators and clamps around the workpiece. The objective is to reduce time, deflection, deformation and to optimize tool path in connection with fixture method 3-2-1. We have used cities (mesh) to simulate the workpiece and a traveling salesman problem (TSP) to simulate tool path. The approach is generation of a feasible fixture plan.
