3D Power Doppler analysis of the vascularisation in tumours of the oral cavity

The aim of this study was to deterine the volume and vascularisation of tumours by 3-D power Doppler US in pts with tumours of the oral cavity. 3D US was performed on 49 pts with carcinomas of the oral cavity. Vascularisation indices VI and VFI were significantly higher in pts with neck metastases. The volume and vascularisation of tumours could be determined effectively by 3D PD US. Tumor vascularisation is higher in metastatic than in non-metastatic tumours.
