Iz svakodnevice renesansnog Dubrovnika
By adressing a topic from the everyday life of Renaissance Dubrovnik, the author demonstrates the sifting methodology of the history of everyday life as contrasted to the institutionalised or quantitative history of ideas. Highlighting man`s world and his environment from the complex social persective, life`s practice, individuaal experience, symbols, oral tradition, social norms and customs, and particularly through an interaction between hitory and literature, the author focuses her attention on the marginal social groups - women, children, artisans, soldiers, foreigners etc. Mercantile-based data provides evidence on the presence of Poles, among other European nations, in the streets and squares of Dubrovnik and vice versa. It was not until the nineteenth century that a larger number of Poles decided to settle in Dubrovnik.
