Sialolithiasis with concurrent sialadenitis in an 18-year-old boy with triple A syndrome
We report a 18-year-old boy with Triple A syndrome (achalasia, alacrimia, adrenal insufficiency, impaired autonomic nervous function, hyposecretion of saliva and the oral cavity infection) presented with sialadenitis and sialolithiasis. In other four patients with Triple A syndrome we could not detect sialoliths. However, we recommend the ultrasound examination of the salivary glands in all patients with Triple A syndrome, because hyposalivation and oral cavity infections present a risk for the salivary gland calculosis
