The effect of calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D supplementation was followed in perimenopausl women. More Ca and Mg would accumulate in the hair of perimenopausal women before than after Ca, Mg, and vitamin D supplementation (calcium paradox). Changes of Ca and Mg hair content are the earlist thus far known indicator of metabolic changes associated with skeletal mineralisation of perimenopausal women.
