Hair calcium paradox - A report of two cases of controlled intermittent dietary calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D supplementation
Calcium paradox is a counterintuitive fact that more Ca in the hair means less Ca to the bone, and vice verse. Increase of hair osteotrophic elements in the menopausal women is the earliest sign of metabolic changes of calcium metabolism leading to osteopenia/osteoporosis. Even before the static umages of DEXA may reveal the differences.
calcium paradox; osteoporosis; calcium; magnesium; vitamin D
