Large displacement analysis of spatial frames under creep regime

The paper presents a beam finite element for creep analysis of spatial framed structures. Displacements and rotations are allowed to be large while strains are assumed to be small. The corresponding equilibrium equations are formulated in the framework of co-rotational description, using the virtual work principle. In contrast to conventional co-rotational formulation, linear on element level, in this paper an additional nonlinear part of stiffness matrix is evaluated in order to model Wagner effect.
