Effect of organic selenium on goat milk production in organic breeding
Investigation is carried out on 27 French Alpine goats from the 3rd to 4st lactation. Animals were kept on indoor-outdoor system in organic breeding. Milking efficiency control was done from 30th day after weaning during 4 months, in periods of one month. The goats were fed by cereal mixtures (wheat, rye, corn and wheat bran) and meadow hay. Organic selenium - Sel-PlexTM (Alltech, Inc.) was added to cereal mixtures of the goats belonged to the experimental group I and II in doses of 0.01% and 0.02% of the total feed mixture raw material composition. The results show that organic selenium added did not have significant influence on milk production and chemical composition. The goat milk from experiment groups I and II have significant lower somatic cells count compared to the control group in secund and third measures.
