Environmental impacts on wheat agronomic and quality traits
The environmental impacts on agronomic and quality traits of thirteen Croatian winter wheat cultivars and elite breeding lines have been evaluated through multi location trials. The highest grain yields and test weights were realized at location Osijek, while at location Tovarnik were found the highest wet gluten, sedimentation value and falling number. Location Požega have shown a lack of protein with the smallest wet gluten production capacity. The high yielding lines with the lowest variation for grain yield and most quality traits were Osk. 54/06, Osk. 36/06 and Osk. 23/06. These lines showed less variation at lower protein level in contrast to cultivars Golubica, Zitarka and Barbara with more pronounced variations at higher protein and lower yield level.
