Anthropometric Characteristics of 4 and 5 year old Children After Implementing Physical and Health Education During One Preschool Year

The research was conducted with the aim to establish whether there are differences between the initial and final testing of some anthropometric characteristics in male children at the kindergarten at the end of a kindergarten year, who have had physical and health education for thirty minutes, five days per week. The results obtained show that regular exercise, and with it growth and development have a positive effect, that the relationship between anthropometric characteristics, that is body height and body weight is satisfactory. The circumference of the forearm is consistent with body weight and height. Values of body mass index have shown that children involved in this research did not belong to the group of obese children at the beginning and end of the testing period, which means that the body mass index is a normal value and they do not belong to the high risk group for developing obesity. From the results obtained, it can be concluded that organized physical exercise and daily physical and health education according to an appropriate curriculum for a particular age group can have a positive effect on development and interpersonal relationship of certain anthropometric characteristics.
