Optimization of Combined Transformer Active Part

This paper deals with combined instrument transformer at which the primary winding of voltage transformer consists of numerous coils that are connected to capacitive shields inside its insulation system. Insulation system of a ombined instrument transformer is exposed to numerous dielectric stresses during type tests and service life. Uniform distribution of high and low frequency stresses in the insulating system is an optimal solution. Nearly linear voltage distribution can be obtained by optimization of capacitive shields and properties of coils. The procedures for optimisation of dimensions and positions of capacitive shields inside the insulation system and for adjusting number of turns per coil are presented.
