PROPERTIES OF GLASS FIBRE REINFORCED POLYMER AT MULTIAXIAL STRESS

Composite materials present an important group of new materials used today in civil engineering. The composite materials are the type of materials usually composed of two components: the matrix and dispersion phase. The material whose mechanical properties at uniaxial stress and simultaneous multiaxial stress are elaborated in this paper is the orthotropic composite, i.e. "glass fibre reinforced polymer" (GFRP). The analysis of marginal condition of GFRP at biaxial stress has been carried out according to the Goldenblat-Kopnov theory of strenght, which suites best the investigated materials, as determined by the experimentally conducted investigation.
