Safe and efficient machining of magnesium

Efficient machining demands high speeds to be used whenever possible. However, when very high speeds are used im machining magnesium there may be a danger of chip fire, because magnesium and magnesium alloys are pyrophoric, and the material build-up on HM cutting edges may constitute problems.
