Standardizing Europe and Professions, Social Implications of the Single Market Programme
The underlying message of this paper is that real opportunities for the free movement of labour across the European frontiers have not been increased by formation of a single European market in 1990s, i.e. they are weaker than the basic documents that outline those processes anticipate it. Instead of social cohesion the available data more refer to a bigger social closure as a consequence of political and economic fragmentation of Europe what becomes a serious obstacle against the integration processes decreasing the competitory opportunities of European industry onto the global market.
