Sever progression of ALS/MND after intervertebtal discectomi
We observed 7 patinets who developed their first signce and symptoms of MND together with signs of protrusio-prolapse of intervertebral disc. All of them suffered from cervicale spine paio or low back pain. Female patinet and one man patient developed weaknes in the smole feath muscles as initial symptoms and thei compained of paresthesia along dermatomes L5 S1 and of severe pain. The ather 5 patients developed waisting of the hand muscles. They had a rather mild pain in the cervical spine and early morning paresthesia as vell as severe causalgia along dermatomes C5 C6 or C6 C7. After the diagnosis compresive radiculopaty in all patients thei undervent surgical treatment and very soon developed very sever progresion of muscles waisting which included muscles of limbs, trunc and bulbar inerveited muscles with signs of lower and upper motor neuron lesion.5 patient died from 12-15 months after surgical treatment and 2 patints are still living.
