Large displacement in numerical analysis of cable bridge structures
This paper presents numerical model of large displacements in assignment of form finding for space cable structures with known first geometry and final gravity load. The model includes two phases of loading. The first phase is pre-tension if it is applied and in the second phase the structures is exposed to the gravity, loaded from zero up to final. The material and geometric nonlinear model includes the large displacement theory based on an incremental approach of the total Lagrange formulation with the small displacements. A solution of renew of the internal forces and stresses is presented, using the principle of zero configuration. This work research the accuracy of the described numerical model. The presented model is applied for analyzing of two examples which present ability and good agreement with existing experiments.
