Applying Cognitive Ergonomics to Teaching Math

We are living in a rapidly transforming world. The event of September 11, 2001 left a mark on people all around the globe and students from all levels are searching for a deeper meaning. We cannot afford anymore to teach just our own narrow subjects and need to find ways to broaden the minds of the students and make connection with other subjects and ideas. In this paper we explore and share principles of Cognitive Ergonomics to teaching Mathematics in an undergraduate setting where students learn in a meaningful and have fun. Even though the particular subject is Mathematics, the principles can apply to any subject.
