Radiovisiography in bone density analysis: the supraorbital region in neanderthals and early modern humans versus that Of modern humans from Croatia
This study has given a new perspective on the comparative structure of the supraorbital region of fossil specimens (Vindija sample-Late Neanderthal, Velika pećina sample-Early Modern Homo sapiens) compared with recent specimens. The method used was digitized radiovisiography, which provided a pseudocoloured bone structure survey in both two and three dimensions along with bone density coefficients for each cross section (the maximum level as high as 256-the level of the metal density used in implantology).
