Performance of the multistrip-MRPCs for FOPI

We report on the status of the Time-of-Flight upgrade with Multistrip-Multigap-Resistive-Plate-Chambers (MMRPCs) for the FOPI detector at GSI [1]. Final detector parameters for the mass production of the counters and the electronic readout system are presented. These final parameters are based on measurements which took place over the last years where the operating range of the MMRPCs has been mapped out with respect to time resolution, efficiency and cluster size. For this purpose we show results at different beam intensities, electric fields and at different preamplifier gains (FEE-gain).
