The presence of growth channel factors in the structure of body composition in pubertal Ggirls
In a longitudinal study of growth and development in pubertal girls, P-technique component-model factor analysis revealed the presence of four growth components in the factor structure of 22 anthropometric and four spirometric variables. The sample consisted of 75 Zagreb girls aged from 11, 5 to 14, 5 years. The extracted four components were 1) a longitudinal bone-tissue growth factor, 2) a soft-tissue growth factor, 3) a respiratory-system growth factor, and 4) a head growth factor. Analysis of variance of component shares in the development of the three growth channels described by Živičnjak and Pavičić showed statistically significant differences for both the components and the growth channels at every age (11.5, 12.5, 13.5, 14.5 years).
