Alteration of light-dark regimen provokes changes of mouse macrophage function and lymphocyte subsets
The circadian and ultradian changes of immune functions has been observed. The aim of this study was to find out whether the brief period preceding and following light/dark alterations influence mouse macrophage spreading and lymphocyte subpopulations in the lymph nodes, spleen and blood. The percentage of T lymphocytes, helper/inducer T lymphocytes and the ratio of helper/inducer:supressor/cytotoxic lymphocytes from blood and lymph nodes was significantly increased following passage from one to another light regimen. Transition from dark to light was alos accompained by significant increase in macrophage spreading.
