Telecommunication technologies in the function of ITS

The development of information-communication technology opens possibilities for new services regarding traffic technologies. Today, customers have the need for up-to-date telematics technologies (ITS services) which the provider of traffic system uses to ensure customers' security, support and to upgrade the quality of service. The increasing and more aggressive competition on the market requires certain adaptation both from service and telecommunication operators towards the beneficiaries of services. The telecommunication operator should provide support to ITS services depending on customers' requirements. The communication between customer and provider should be addressed with special care. Here, it is very important to be familiar with new technologies in the area and communication towards the control traffic centre. Comparing the telecommunication technologies available on the market with the telematic systems, one can recognize how disintegrated they are. The disintegration is present at the global level, and the biggest problem are the different innovation cycles. The polling results show the provider's level of readiness for supporting the future implementations of telematic services.
