INFLUENCE OF DRUGS ON NEW-BORN CHILDREN
Drugs are different natural or synthetic substances that taken into organism may induce various physical or psychological effects and lead to dependency. Undoubtedly, one of reasonable fears is connected with drug abuse in the pregnancy because most of addicts are young persons, just in their reproductive stage. Drugs, taken during the pregnancy, increased its risky, with, depending on gestation age, different symptoms and signs as a consequence of their abuse . This paper describes two cases of newborn child died within 72 hours after parturition. The cause of death was withdrawal syndrome effected by the opiates (heroin) using during the whole pregnancy. To protect still-born, besides regularly education of intended mothers, it would be necessary to perform drug-test of the urine during ordinary systematic control of pregnant women. However, that opens a series of ethical dilemmas, as is interruption of privacy, in spite of the fact that using drugs is forbidden by the low).
