Modification of polypropylene/wollastonite composites by novel metallocene elastomers

Blending of polymers or compounding with different fillers is a rather simple way to produce new polymeric materials with desired properties. While the incorporation of fillers usually enhances the stiffness and decreases the toughness, the addition of elastomers has quite opposite effect. The control of the dispersibility and phase morphology of ternary polymer/filler/elastomer composites is the most important for optimization the mechanical properties. According to this aim the influence of different metallocene propylene based copolymers as elastomers in the polypropylene/wollastonite/elastomer composites on the morphology and structure as well as their mechanical properties was investigated.
