The Activity of Alanin Aminotransferase and the Fluctation of Concentration of Bilirubin, Blood Urea Nitrogen, Creatinine in the Blood Serum of Babesia Affected Dogs
Investigation into babesiosis was performed on fifty dogs of different breeds. After clinical examination, blood samples were taken for further investigation into Babesia and biochemical parametres (ALT, bilirubin, BUN, creatinine) were also made. On the day of their arrival at the Clinic for Internal Disease the first measurings on biochemical parameters were performed. The next measurings were done on the seventh day of their clinical treatment. All dogs in which Babesia organisms were found were treated by imidocarb dipropionat. Alt activities in both measurings proved to be within the referred values. Higher bilirubin in the blood serum of the first day was reduced to the upper physiological level. BUN and creatinine content in the blood serum substantially higher on the first day were within physiological values on the seventh day of treatment.
