Atmospheric H2O2 measurement and modeling campain during summer 2004 in Zagreb, Croatia
In a collaborative effort of German and Croatian researchers continuous monitoring of atmospheric H2O2, O3, CO, CO2, SO2, NO, NO2, BTX, humidity and insolation was performed during May through August, 2004. at a remote location (basketball field of the Rudjer Boskovic Institute campus) in Zagreb. The collected adjusted data in form of 1h-averages were used for modeling the observed diurnal concentration behavior and development over a couple of days by means of the Master Mechanism program developed by S. Madronich (NCAR, Boulder, CO). Meteorological data from nearby stations of the Geophysical and Hydrometeorological Institutes and independently determined VOC concentrations from gas chromatograms of samples collected over several hours during the day at RBI were also considered. The H2O2 concentrations shown here to vary between zero and 6.2 ppb are first such reported data for the region and their modeling along with that of ozone data gives valuable insight to the interplay of pollutants that influence their values.
