Biological and biochemical approach to retinoic acid
Retinoic acid is a derivate of vitamin A which enters the organism in a form of beta-carotene. Our results showed that retinoic acid had impact on differentiation of mammalian embryo cultured in vitro. Inhibition of the keratinization of epidermis and its replacement by a mucous secreting epithelium (mucous metaplasia) as wellas inhibition of cartilage were observed.
