Automated and Motorized Videotheodolites System for 3-D Measurement
The paper shows the development of the 3-D videotheodolite measurement system. The integration of CCD-sensors into motorized theodolites renders possible the realisation of very flexible, extensively automatic, highly accurate optical 3D techniques. The camera is rigidly mounted in the telescope of a theodolite so that it can rotate together with the telescope about the theodolite's axes. The mounting keeps the orientation of the camera stable so that the object space can be enlarged. This yields high flexibility. Computer aided control of pointing and focusing allows extensive automation. High accuracy is possible because even the details of far objects can be imaged on the whole surface of the CCD-array. There is no need to bring the object to the measurement place, because the system can be easily transported. The external control of the developed system makes scanning of objects at dangerous places possible. Since the unsignalized target can be targeted, scanning of inaccessible objects is also possible.
