Kompjutorizacija RISM A/II projekta u svijetu i u Hrvatskoj
In the mid-1970s RISM, the international project of cataloguing early music manuscripts and prints, approached electronic technology. The process of computerizing the musical sources required the standardization of cataloguing procedures, and RISM developed its own standard, based partially on the ISBD, MARC, UNIMARC and their national versions. In the early 1990s RISM completed its program of cataloguing of music manuscripts called PIKaDo, which made possible uniform bibliographic control over the entries and an automatic generation of music incipits. The Croatian national branch of RISM adopted PIKaDo in 1992, using it for the transfer of data to the RISM central office. In Croatia the GLAZBA application was developed, written in the CDS ISIS program, as a specific Croatian program for both prints and manuscripts. Furtheron, a program developed in 1996 is used in Croatia for the conversion of data from ISIS to PIKaDo. Two Croatian music collections (in Cres and Zagreb, with 5260 items in all) have been catalogued until now with such electronic means, and four more collections are in progress.
