Model of optimal cargo transport structure by full container ship on predefined sailing route
This paper presents the mathematical model for solving the problem of defining optimal cargo transport structure, occurring when, on a predefined sailing route, adequate number of containers of various type, mass and size, possibly including RO/RO cargo, is to be selected, i.e., a "container lot" is to be established in loading ports, aiming to gain maximum ship´s profit and, in the same time, to exploit useful load and transport capacity of container ship as much as possible. Implementation of the proposed model enables considerable increase of efficiency of container ship operations. The model was tested using a numerical example with real data. Applied postoptimal analysis examines the influence of change in some values of the mathematical model to the resulting optimal program.
