Linearization of the Measurement System Characteristics by Autocalibration and Polynomial Approximation
A measurement system model comprising N-point autocalibration controlled by the microprocessor is described. The system is restricted to the measurements of low frequency analog inputs. Analog correction of measurement quantity is accomplished by inverse interpolation polynomials. The (N-1)-st order polynomials are derived from the results of the N-point periodic autocalibration. Analog to digital conversion is performed by a voltage to frequency converter and the correction of an analog input quantity by a low resolution digital to analog converter. A high performance reference voltage source enables to achieve and preserve a high overall accuracy of the measurement system even if using low performance analog electronic components in a measurement system.
