Using Inhibitors to Protect Steel Prestressing in High Performance Grouts
Prestressed concrete is widely used as construction material in structures with long spans. Inspection of prestressed bridges have shown that due to aggressive, maritime conditions almost all of them have problems with chloride induced corrosion and that corrosion is the main reason for their reduced service life. In this research potentiostatic anodic polarization was applied to evaluate the effectiveness of inhibitors as corrosion protection of steel for prestressing when added into high performance grouts. The influence of corrosion inhibitors on physical and mechanical properties of grout was researched as well.
